25 YEARS, 25 STORIES

The Oregon-based food company Green Valley® launched in 2015 with a simple mission: “Healthy food for all.”

“From the start,” the company says, “we knew ‘healthy food for all’ needed to be more than simply providing a quality product at an affordable price point. It needed to be in our DNA. As early as the idea for Green Valley came into existence, so did the idea of sponsoring a likeminded cause.”

Green Valley found such a partner in The Food Trust, whose mission is nearly identical: to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. To support these efforts, the company donates two cents to The Food Trust for every unit of organic packaged beans and vegetables it sells. This partnership has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the organization, providing a dependable base of support so The Food Trust can focus its energy on the most urgent community needs.

“The Food Trust is a leader in food access and nutrition education,” Green Valley says. “Educating consumers about the importance of healthy eating is core to our values. Healthy eating does not have to be a cumbersome, life-changing decision. It’s all about small swaps and choices consumers can make every day to live a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.”
