We currently employ more than 100 people – nutrition educators and corner store recruiters, supermarket advocates and farmers market managers, researchers and many more – in our Philadelphia office. Yael Lehmann, Executive Director of The Food Trust
In her tenure at The Food Trust, Yael has directed the growth of the organization’s farmers’ markets, nutrition education programs, food retail development initiatives and other programs to promote access to affordable, nutritious food in lower-income communities.

Lack of access to healthy, affordable food and diet-related diseases are important public health issues and must be addressed both through direct intervention and through broader policy change to create long-lasting impact. The Food Trust and its partners advocate for policy change at all levels: institutional, city, state and federal.

In order to ensure that kids are able to grow up at a healthy weight, the Center’s goal is to make healthy foods and beverages the affordable, available, and desired choice in all neighborhoods and communities.

The dedicated staff members working in our Philadelphia headquarters ensure that all of The Food Trust programs run smoothly, providing human resources, communications and administrative support for staff and programs.

The Food Trust supports hundreds of corner store owners through our Healthy Corner Store Initiative and provides technical assistance to groups nationally who want to stock healthy products and teach customers how to make healthier choices for their families.

Farmers Markets and Night Market Philadelphia
The Food Trust operates 20+ farmers markets in Philadelphia, including Clark Park Farmers Market and Headhouse Farmers Market. We also host Night Market Philadelphia, the city’s premier street food festival spotlighting Philly’s best ethnic and regional restaurants and food trucks.

Research and Evaluation
