Our Staff: Human Resources, Communications and Administration


Dwayne Wharton, Director of External Affairs
Dwayne works on local and national advocacy efforts and has his master's degree in education. He serves on the boards of the Seybert and Kynett Foundations, Bridging the Gaps Community Health Internship Program, and Bryn Mawr College’s Non-Profit Executive Leadership Institute. Fun fact: Dwayne can often be found DJing at Night Market Philadelphia!

Tricia Dressel, Director of Human Resources
Tricia is responsible for leading The Food Trust's overall human resources strategy and operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Tricia's a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a professional member of the Society for Human Resources (SHRM). On weekends, she can be found in South Philly playing bocce ball with the Grassroots Bocce League.

Carolyn Huckabay, Communications Senior Associate
Carolyn oversees the agency's marketing and communications efforts, promoting The Food Trust's myriad programs and the people who make them so successful. In her free time, Carolyn is on the Board of Directors of the South Philly Food Co-op.

Ja’Net Seamon, Senior Associate, Human Resources
Ja’Net manages The Food Trust’s ongoing processes related to the employment life cycle, including performance, compensation and personnel issues, providing expertise in the HR environment. When Ja’Net is not in the office, she enjoys white water rafting and roller coasters.


Shadyra Chambers, Administrative and Communications Coordinator
Shadyra supports the Administration team and manages The Food Trust's social media platforms, working with sponsors to develop and implement promotional packages and collaborates with staff on ways to promote The Food Trust and its programs to the public. Shadyra enjoys traveling and sharing her stories through social media.


Monica Lo, Communications Associate
Monica works on the agency's communications and marketing team, managing the website, writing newsletters, aiding in press releases and providing support for other promotional efforts and materials. In addition to her marketing degree from the Villanova School of Business, Monica also has a green belt in judo.

Kelly Yerger, Executive Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator
In addition to overseeing the Food Trust's Volunteer and Intern Program, Kelly works closely with Executive Director Yael Lehmann and the Board of Directors. She also prepares reports and presentations, offers research support, plans special events and manages day-to-day office operations. Outside the office, Kelly is an aspiring culinary artist.

Jordan Muse, External Affairs Associate
Jordan works on a variety of initiatives which focus on ensuring that partners, policies, programs and initiatives address the social determinants of health and equity. She has her masters of public health from the University of South Carolina and is a certified personal trainer. Jordan is also learning French.


Juan J. Parrilla, Administrative Manager
Juan provides administrative support for our SNAP-Ed program. Juan is an avid collector and enthusiast of comic books and collectibles.


Nadine Hughes, Administrative Coordinator
Nadine assists with the growth and success of The Food Trust's SNAP-Ed nutrition education program. When not at work, Nadine likes to sing and dance around her house with her daughter.
