What We Do: At Farmers Markets

Operating a network of more than two dozen farmers markets

The Issue

Too many neighborhoods in the Philadelphia region lack access to nutritious, local foods – and the area’s farmers and small-scale food producers are in search of an outlet for their products.

The Food Trust Solution

The Food Trust's network of farmers markets helps sustain regional farms and serves more than 400,000 customers in the Philadelphia region each year. Many of The Food Trust farmers markets are located in neighborhoods underserved by supermarkets, grocery stores and other fresh food outlets and accept SNAP (food stamps), WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers and Philly Food Bucks and provide helpful nutrition information to ensure that fresh, local foods are available to everyone.

All The Food Trust farmers markets are now smoke free. Learn more about how Philadelphia is quitting the habit at smokefreephilly.org.
