Have fun with Food Trust Fundraising

Looking for other ways to join the movement and make a difference? In addition to making a direct financial contribution, you can become a part of The Food Trust community by hosting a special event, leading a Walk Against Hunger team or finding another creative way to support our work.

However you choose to be involved, your participation helps us ensure that every Philadelphia family can access fresh, healthy food and nutrition education, no matter where they live. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Host a house party
Reach out to your friends and family, and host a fundraiser in honor of The Food Trust. We’ll provide you with at “House Party Kit” containing a how-to calendar, invitations, pamphlets, donation envelopes, sign-in sheet for guests, and other literature – and we’ll answer any questions that come up along the way.

Honor The Food Trust on your birthday, wedding or other special event
For your next special event, ask your friends and family to donate to The Food Trust instead of giving presents. We’ll help you spread the word about our work and your generosity!

Form a Walk Against Hunger Team
Each spring, The Food Trust’s staff works together to generate support for the annual Walk Against Hunger.  Form your own team to fundraise, walk and celebrate with us! We’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide to help you raise awareness and donations – and have fun doing it!

Thanks to some of our recent "fun"draisers:

Melissa hosted a cupcake decorating party to benefit The Food Trust. Guests decorated cupcakes with fillings and toppings provided by 10 of the best local bakeries. What a delicious way to raise nearly $1,000!

Zac and Lori honored The Food Trust on their wedding day! They made a generous donation in support of our work, and we designed table cards to educate their guests about how their gift would drive healthy change for kids and families in Philadelphia.

Megan is teaching a yoga class at the architecture firm where she works and instead of charging a fee she’s asking her colleagues to make a donation to The Food Trust. What a great way to encourage healthy habits in the workplace!

Linda hosted a wonderful art birthday party and instead of receiving gifts she asked all her guests to make donations to The Food Trust! She’s so passionate about our work that she’s also planning an art opening with a food theme and is planning to contribute proceeds to The Food Trust.
