The Food Trust offers internships for undergraduate and graduate students throughout the year, and opportunities are available in a variety of program areas—from nutrition education to policy. Food Trust interns gain valuable experience working in the public health and food access spaces, while furthering our mission to increase access to affordable, nutritious food and nutrition education in the communities that need it most.

Current Opportunities

Healthy Food Access Internship: Fall 2021

The Food Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and committed intern to help support the Healthy Food Access team in the implementation of multiple state-level Healthy Food Financing Initiatives (HFFIs). The Food Trust’s Healthy Food Access work combines rigorous research and policy advocacy to forge innovative public/private partnerships that bring grocery stores and other fresh food retail markets to underserved areas. This intern position provides an ideal opportunity for an individual interested in public policy, public health, research, urban planning, food systems and/or community and economic development to learn about the diverse efforts and strategies of a nationally recognized organization while building communication skills and practical experience. Dietetic Internship – Community Nutrition Rotation (Fall 2022)

The Food Trust provides opportunities for dietetic interns to complete their Community Nutrition rotation. Interns gain experience in nutrition education, food access and evaluation, interacting with all age groups and achieving a variety of core competencies.
