Listening and learning:
Evaluation at The Food Trust

To ensure we’re meeting our mission of delicious, nutritious food for all, The Food Trust engages in comprehensive evaluation of its programs, using a community participatory planning approach to incorporate resident feedback.

Our evaluation efforts allow us to learn which Food Trust interventions best meet communities’ needs and utilize their assets, measure the efficacy and impact of our work, and engage in continuous improvement. Once program strategies have been identified, we use process evaluation to assess the extent to which the interventions are delivered as planned. Utilizing a range of tools, we also collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to measure program effectiveness and impact. Collectively, these efforts allow us to document program successes, build on lessons learned and create models for replication in other communities.

The Food Trust shares its knowledge with a diverse range of stakeholders — including community members — and is committed to advancing equity through its evaluation work.
