Starting Saturday, August 12, Clark Park Farmers Market will be moving to an L shape starting halfway down 43rd Street and continuing down the sidewalk on Chester Avenue.

Why are we moving?

  • Major construction for a large mixed-use building is underway at the corner of 43rd & Baltimore, creating significant physical barriers and safety issues
  • The farmers market currently blocks the 43rd Street Health Center’s parking lot, which can no longer be blocked and must be accessible at all times
  • Vendors and customers need adequate space and safe passage free of construction vehicles, equipment and debris

Where will Clark Park Farmers Market be located?

Using The Food Trust’s existing City of Philadelphia ordinance, the market layout will begin midway down 43rd Street and continue in the street toward Chester Avenue; then it will turn at Chester Avenue, continuing west on the sidewalk along the edge of the park. (Scroll down to view a map of the new layout.)

While the farmers market is in operation, all other vendors will be asked to refrain from setting up within the new footprint (including the north side of Chester Avenue).

When is this happening?

As of Saturday, August 12, 2023, the farmers market will shift to this new location.

Can I park my car on Chester Avenue, since the market will be on the sidewalk?

No. It is imperative that the curb lane is clear for vendors, so please make sure your vehicle is not parked on Chester Avenue between 43rd and 45th Streets on Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Can I park my car on 43rd Street now that the market will be moving?

No. On Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be no parking on 43rd Street between Baltimore and Chester Avenues, to ensure adequate space and safety for vendors and customers.
